25th Anniversary of Volvo’s Safety Centre
Volvo Cars Ireland has been the definitive leader in car safety for over 65 years - built on the belief that safety should never be a competitive advantage. That spirit was first demonstrated in 1959, when Volvo invented the three-point seatbelt and gave the patent away freely so every car maker could use it. Today, there is a piece of Volvo in every car.
To mark the 25th anniversary of Volvo's Safety Centre - 25 years of rigorous, real-world testing that has contributed to saving over one million lives worldwide - we brought media, brand ambassadors and influencers together for an evening at the stunning RHA Gallery in Dublin. With the flagship EX90 as the centrepiece, the night unfolded around Volvo's founding commitment to safety, brought to life through an intimate conversation between brand ambassador Dermot Bannon and racing legend Rachel Blackmore - two people who understand better than most what precision and trust mean under pressure. Award-winning chef and fellow ambassador Mark Moriarty completed the evening with a sit-down Scandi style dinner that matched the occasion in every sense. Through a setting and storytelling that felt distinctly Volvo - considered, human and quietly impressive - we helped turn a significant anniversary into a memorable moment.
